Good Tidings

I know we’ve mentioned this beer on the blog before, but trust me, it deserves a post of its own.

We randomly put Port City’s Tidings in a tasting last winter and have been obsessed with it ever since. You may remember that our friend Caitlin, honorary Barley Babe, likened the Tidings to a chai tea latte, and this comparison is right on the money. Maryland wildflower honey provides an initial sweetness, but then a wave of spices kick in, balancing the sweet and giving the beer its seasonal taste. It has a complex flavor profile, but remains crisp and easy to drink.

Because the Tidings is so palate friendly, and has such cute, Christmasy packaging, it makes a great gift for the craft beer lovers in your life! You don’t even need to wrap it. Just pick up a six-pack, tie on a bow, and let the gold box and colorful Christmas lights do the work for you. In fact, if you’re still trying to decide what to get the Barley Babes…
