There’s nothing better than listening to the radio as you struggle to wake up on a Friday morning and hearing a story about beer! Check out this NPR article about a new beer-wine hybrid on tap at the Red Hen restaurant in Washington D.C. The owner of the Red Hen partnered with craft brewery DC Brau to concoct a chocolatey porter brewed with a hint of Bordeaux. I don’t know what most excites me about this combo, that it brings together my two favorite alcoholic beverages, beer and red wine, that it’s environmentally friendly (beer is combined with lees, a waste product of winemaking), or that it’s happening right down the road in D.C. Regardless, I hope to try it soon!
