On our third (and possibly favorite) day in New York, we headed out to Brooklyn to visit our brother. Our first stop was Smorgasburg, a huge indoor market with tons of handmade jewelry, art, vintage flea finds, and some of the best food of the entire trip. We picked up a few last minute Christmas presents (and a couple items for ourselves 😉 ), filled up on lobster mac and veggie quiche, and then made our way to Brooklyn Brewery.
This is the first big time brewery we bitches have ever visited, so we weren’t exactly sure what to expect. Although it was a
bit lot crowded, the atmosphere was lively and energetic.
After purchasing beer tokens, we hopped in line for our brews, and unsuccessful in finding a table, opted for a couple of barrels. While some of the beers we tried were forgettable, we all loved the Brooklyner Weisse and the Sorachi Ace (a single-hop farmhouse saison).
The next time we visit Brooklyn Brewery we’ll pack a picnic lunch, arrive early enough to secure a table, and make a day of it with their 5 for $20 deal.
Tomorrow you’ll hear about one of our new favorite bars, Radegast Hall & Biergarten. In the meantime we’ll leave you with some wise words from the walls of Brooklyn Brewery.
